Waiyee Chou

Lead Landscape Architect


Waiyee holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies (Design) and Urban Studies, in addition to a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto. During Waiyee’s graduate studies in landscape architecture, she received multiple awards for her work, which include the John E. (Jack) Irving Prize and an Honour Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects. She is a Full Member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects and Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.

Prior to joining Weston Consulting as the Lead Landscape Architect, Waiyee worked at a combination of design and planning firms in Toronto, gaining project experience at Forest and Field Landscape Architecture, PMA Landscape Architects, and Bousfields, in addition to spending time at the City of Toronto in the City Planning Division. Waiyee is experienced in both landscape architecture and urban design, having worked on a range of project types, which include streetscapes, parks, secondary plans, block plans, urban design guidelines, large-scale master plans, and detailed site plan design for landscape architectural projects.

Waiyee regularly explores design through temporary installation projects, which have been recognized internationally through design competitions such as the International Garden Festival held at the Jardins de Métis and the Land Art Generator Initiative. These works have been featured in a variety of publications and platforms, which include World Landscape Architecture, Domus, Azure Magazine, and Land Art of the 21st Century (Hirmer, 2021).
