Kurt holds a Bachelor of Mathematics Degree and a Master’s Degree in Planning from the University of Waterloo. He is a Registered Professional Planner of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and a Full Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
Kurt began his career at Procter and Gamble Inc. in 1980 in the Management Systems Department. In 1997 he was awarded the Adult Volunteer of the Year Award for the Town of Oakville. In the same year, Kurt was elected Local and Regional Councilor for Ward 6 in Oakville. In this capacity, he quickly demonstrated his leadership abilities by heading numerous Committees and Boards. He played an important role on the Town Planning and Development Council, among others. In 2003, he left public service to obtain his Master’s Degree in Planning, specializing in Land Development Planning.
Kurt joined Weston Consulting in June of 2006 and has achieved broad success in a cross section of land development, overseeing and managing a variety of complex projects. Kurt has extensive experience in Subdivisions, Condominiums, Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plans, Minor Variance and Consents applications, and more. He successfully works with landowners to develop a vision for the highest and best use for their lands and then put the strategy in place to achieve those objectives. His success is built on his relationships with others and his ability get things done.
