55 Dunlop

Presentation

Located in the Downtown core in the City of Barrie, the project is approximately 150 metres from Kempenfelt Bay. The development proposes a pedestrian arcade that will connect Dunlop Street, Simcoe Street, and the waterfront and will be a landmark within the city as the tallest buildings in the downtown area.

The project includes the development of two 32-storey residential towers with retail and commercial services at street level. Maintaining active street uses is paramount to the design, focusing on the history of the main street and reinforcing the commercial presence within Barrie. The proposal contributes to the intensification and diversification of building stock in the area, along with enhancing the skyline along the waterfront.

Weston Consulting has provided leadership and support in applications for a Zoning By-law Amendment, and Site Plan Approval. This has included the preparation of a Zoning By-law Amendment, Official Plan Amendment, and the coordination and attendance at meetings with City Staff.
