Located between an established residential community, Highway 400, and big box stores, the project contains strong constraints within which we developed a vision for future development. The new bridge of Harvie Road creates additional routes within the area, and new opportunities for mobility. Engaging building and land use compatibility strategies, we developed a comprehensive Block Plan for the 36 hectares in the City of Barrie. This master planned community includes a variety of residential density, employment, and commercial spaces.
The proposal incorporates parks, open space, and storm water management facilities in a development for townhouses, semi-detached and mid-rise residential buildings. In addition, the development locates the employment and commercial uses adjacent to the Highway 400 transportation corridor, mitigating any direct impact on the surrounding and proposed neighbourhoods.
