The Met

Presentation

The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) is at the forefront of growth in the City of Vaughan. This area is envisioned to be a vibrant, modern urban centre for residents and businesses, inspiring mixed-use towers, residences, urban squares and open green spaces. This site is located on the east side of Jane Street, north of Highway 7 at the northern edge of the VMC boundary and a gateway into this community.

The approval of a 35-storey condominium tower and townhomes totaling 572 residential units was completed in 2018 and is now built and is the first residential building within a 5-minute walk of the VMC subway station. The Met is located just steps from the VMC subway station ensuring a highly connected and transit-oriented development. The design of the building is consistent with the VMC Urban Design Guidelines, and high- quality architectural materials create a distinguished visual landmark. A range of amenity features have also been incorporated at the ground floor, which will cater to the needs of residents in the building as well as reflect the modern urban lifestyle associated with this unique project.

Weston Consulting provided planning services by assisting in the submission of applications for Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments and Site Plan Approval, providing the planning justification in support of the applications, as well as the draft amendments for approval.
